Wireless Modules
NFC / RFID Modules
13.56 MHz NFC and RFID reader modules for access control, locks, kiosks and identification products.
Overview
NFC and RFID modules read a credential and return its identifier. The engineering effort sits in three places: the antenna, the protocol coverage, and what the system does with the identifier afterwards.
We supply 13.56 MHz reader modules covering common ISO14443A/B and ISO15693 credentials, with UART, SPI and I2C interfaces. For products with a metal front panel or a very thin bezel, the antenna is the limiting factor — we design the coil geometry, ferrite shielding and matching network for the actual mechanical design.
On the software side we implement card enrolment, sector or block access where required, key management for MIFARE Classic or DESFire deployments, and the mapping between a card identifier and a user record in the app or cloud platform.
Capabilities
What this covers
Common credential support
ISO14443A/B and ISO15693 coverage, with model-specific support for MIFARE Classic, DESFire and NFC tag types.
Antenna design
Coil geometry, ferrite shielding and matching network designed for metal panels and compact enclosures.
Multiple host interfaces
UART, SPI and I2C options to suit the host MCU and board space.
Credential lifecycle
Enrolment, revocation and identifier-to-user mapping handled in the app and cloud layers.
Specification
Technical specifications
| Frequency | 13.56 MHz |
|---|---|
| Standards | ISO14443A/B, ISO15693 (model dependent) |
| Host interface | UART, SPI, I2C |
| Card types | MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFire, NFC tags (model dependent) |
| Antenna | Integrated coil or external antenna connector |
| Read range | Typically 2 – 5 cm, enclosure dependent |
| Supply voltage | 2.7 – 3.6 V |
| Operating temperature | −25 °C to +85 °C (model dependent) |
Read range is strongly affected by the enclosure, metal proximity and credential type. Range is validated on the finished mechanical design.
Applications
Where it is used

Questions
Frequently asked
Can the reader work behind a metal front panel?
Yes, with a ferrite shield and a correctly tuned antenna. Metal detunes the coil, so the design has to be validated on the actual panel, not on a bare PCB.
Do you support encrypted MIFARE DESFire credentials?
Support depends on the reader model and the key management scheme. We confirm the credential type and security level before selecting a part.
Can the same module read phone-based NFC?
Yes for NFC-capable phones, subject to the antenna design and the phone’s antenna position. We test with representative handsets.
