Mold Manufacturing

Tool making, trial shots and correction cycles, with the first-article report that production depends on.

Overview

Mold manufacturing is a sequence of machining and fitting steps where each one has to hold tolerance for the next. Core and cavity inserts are machined, hardened where required, EDM-cut for fine detail, polished to the specified surface finish and assembled into the mold base.

After assembly the tool is tried on the production machine with the intended material. The first shots are measured against the drawing, and any correction — steel adjustment, gate change, cooling tweak — is made before the tool is accepted.

We manage that loop with the molder and report the results: which dimensions were measured, which were adjusted, and what the approved first article looks like. Production then starts from a tool that has already been proven.

Capabilities

What this covers

01

Machining and EDM

CNC milling, EDM and wire cutting for inserts and fine features, with hardened steel where wear demands it.

02

Surface finish control

Polishing and texture specification matched to the CMF requirement, including gloss level.

03

Trial shots

Trial runs on the production machine with the intended material, not a substitute.

04

First-article report

Measured dimensions and appearance criteria documented before production release.
